Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our telehealth psychiatry services at Resilience Mental Health, including insurance, scheduling, evaluations, medication management, and privacy.
Some examples of the insurances we work with are Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Optum/United Healthcare, ComPsych, and Cigna/Evernorth but coverage varies by provider and plan benefits. Because panel participation can change, we recommend calling our office or checking with your insurance company to confirm your mental health coverage, including telehealth psychiatric visits, copays, and deductibles. We can also discuss self-pay options if needed. Our office staff is also happy to provide basic information and help you navigate common insurance questions.
Prior to scheduling your first appointment please contact our offices at 424-587-0863 to speak with our office manager: (1) We need to receive your completed intake paperwork, and (2) We must verify your insurance benefits (if you are using insurance). Once these steps are complete, we will contact you to offer available intake appointment times. We do our best to schedule new patients as promptly as possible while ensuring you are matched with the provider who best fits your needs.
During your telehealth intake appointment, we focus on understanding your history and current needs. The psychiatrist will be asking a comprehensive list of questions covering your background, medical history, and any current psychiatric concerns. This is to help the provider gain a better understanding of your needs, arrive at an accurate diagnosis, and create a personalized care plan that will benefit you.
The initial intake appointment is scheduled for one hour. However, a full assessment may occasionally take more than one session, often spanning across 2-3 appointments to gather a comprehensive picture. This allows enough time for a thorough evaluation, discussion of your concerns and goals, and development of a preliminary treatment plan. Follow-up visits are generally shorter, but length can vary depending on your needs and the type of appointment. Please be aware that Child and Adolescent initial evaluations may require multiple appointments to gather adequate information to better support your child.
Yes, the psychiatrist may offer medication management for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders when it is clinically appropriate and aligned with your treatment goals. This includes evaluating whether medication is indicated, discussing potential benefits and side effects, prescribing and adjusting medications, and monitoring your response over time. Medication management is always provided as part of a broader, holistic approach that may also include therapy, lifestyle changes, and other supports.
Therapy is offered in very limited availability, and primarily our psychiatrists focus on medication management and brief supportive interventions. In some cases, shorter-term therapy or skills-based sessions may be available depending on the provider’s schedule and your clinical needs. When ongoing therapy is indicated, we are happy to collaborate with outside therapists and help connect you with appropriate referrals.
You can easily book, modify, or cancel your appointments through our patient portal Charm (https://phr.charmtracker.com/)or by calling/texting our office at 424-587-0863. Please be aware that we have a 48 business hour policy for cancelations. Appointments that are canceled with less than 48 business hours’ notice will incur a late‑cancel fee.
The desktop version of Charm (https://phr.charmtracker.com/)is the preferred method for accessing the patient portal, as it offers the most complete and reliable experience. While there may be limited mobile access through a browser, some features may not display as smoothly on smaller screens. For the best experience, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer when possible.
Our practice does not currently offer neuropsychological testing. If comprehensive testing is recommended for diagnostic clarification, learning differences, cognitive concerns, or other reasons, we will provide referrals to trusted specialists in the community who focus on neuropsychological assessment.
